So How Wuzit?

For Those Who Missed the Event...

Everybody had a great, and I mean great, time at the reunion.  Those not attending missed real-life experience of a Vulcan mind meld and spiritual reconnection that simply cannot be expressed in words.  It really did seem like old times except for two things.  First, we all had grey hair or no hair at all (wives excepted of course).  Second, those little cliques that inevitably form in high school had pretty much disintegrated, so everybody wanted to chat with everybody.  Aside from modest limitations due to aging and illness, the golf outing was a blast.  God made sure it did not rain in Wood Dale that day despite foreboding clouds.

Saturday, many people used Saturday afternoon to lunch mano-a-mano with old pals.  A bunch of folks who sat in on the chapel concert went out for beers over on Chicago in front of the house in which John Ryan's dad grew up (not far up the street from the subway). We had a good turnout for the mission party too.

Sunday, Archbishop Wilt, Msgr Ken and some classmates concelebrated mass before the reception and dinner.  Everyone was so into connecting that I doubt many even noticed the food.  Okay.  They definitely did notice the drink.  St. Iggy booted us out about 10:30, and most folks went home/hotel to bed.  Hey, were 68 for cryinoutloud.  A few of us got together later and BS'd till 1:00 AM or so.

So, all in all, if you attended you know you were part of something special.  If you chose not to attend, or were too ill to attend, hopefully we will see you next time.  There will likely be mini reunions each year, and we will try to post advanced notice here, and, shotgun email those for whom we have valid emails.  If we do not have your email address, send it and updates, to QPS-65@hotmail.com.
